Putting it all Together
Week 5 program
It is very likely that this 6-weeks blew your mind a bit, especially if this is the first time you've heard of any of these things or if this is the first time you're realizing those annoying leaks and persistent pain aren't just part of life, it can be quite scary.
It can also be really hard, really emotional to live in a body that experiences chronic pain or symptoms.
While practitioners and therapists are trying to be helpful, often their language or the way they communicate just doesn't cut it. Their diagnosis or the one you give yourself, can leave us feeling broken in a lot of ways.
You deserve more than to feel like you are fragile, unstable, or just doomed to live with symptoms.
To be perfectly honest, part of my job used to be telling people they were out of alignment. That their pain was caused by their posture which was caused by the way they lived or the activities they loved.
I hate typing that, but that's how I was trained to look at people- to find muscle imbalances and weaknesses caused my misalignment and fix them. I'd send them on their way and they would come back "out of alignment" again- still in pain.. and I'd have to "fix" it all over again.
The more I did this the more sure I felt that this wasn't the way to help people.
Then I met Amy Eicher of Restoring Venus, who I legit told she was unstable on one side on a very quick assessment of a balance test. Later that day she told me her story of chronic pain and it changed the way I practiced and how I spoke to people. Words REALLY matter, they're powerful, and words can leave pretty permanent scars. The only scars I want to leave are positive ones.
I often see clients who feel cornered by their bodies- their pain or their symptoms and even from their births. Like there's no way out and there will never be a normal that doesn't include worry and fear. They have no clue where to go or what to do to make things better, hell they can only imagine things getting worse. If that's you, know that I understand where you are. I see you. You aren't broken.
When I created this program I wanted to help moms feel stronger, less broken and more heard, and to find movement that helped them heal. I hope that is what you’ve gained from this program.
